Ugh! I just want this first draft over with. I know, I know, I'm supposed to enjoy the process, but this one is killing me. I'm headed in the wrong direction AGAIN. I was going to plow through and finished the damned thing anyway and try to fix it a year from now after it collects a purifying layer of dust, but I can't live with myself doing that. Time to delete more hours worth of work. Fortunately, it won't be 80% of the script this time, and I have made it further this time than before, too. Because, yes, I should be enjoying the process, and if I'm bored, that means this movie is boring.
Oh, and I actually have an idea of how to fix the problem. I just hope THIS idea gets me through to the end.
Here's to wearing the "DEL" off of the delete key.

Have you ever read the book :
ReplyDeleteHow to Write a Movie in 21 Days by Viki King (amazon.com link)
It is the knock-down all-time number-one desert-island-marooned best screen writing book. It's also -- and this is terribly important -- short.
It provides a good method for screenwriting and as you read it, it's like having Ms. King in the room talking to you.
Check it out, maybe it'll do something for you.
